Richland County approves 255-unit housing development amid resident concerns

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A major new housing development in the Blythewood area is one step closer to becoming reality after Richland County Council approved a rezoning request Tuesday night despite concerns from nearby residents.

The proposed development would bring 255 housing units to approximately 157 acres of land near Blythebrook Road and Fulmer Road. Developers with Haven Communities said the revised proposal is significantly smaller than the original plan, which called for 388 homes.
