Weekend: Patchy fog, afternoon storms; temps rise next week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Happy Friday! Yesterday’s storms brought substantial rainfall to the Chattahoochee Valley. Columbus has seen over 4.5 inches of rain (radar estimated) in 48 hours. Union Springs saw over 5.5 inches of rain. This will help significantly with what is left of the drought.

The Weekend: With overcast skies and warm/humid weather, get ready for areas of patchy fog early Saturday morning. Clouds will linger throughout the day tomorrow, and we will have another round of afternoon storms. Severe weather is not expected.

Isolated storms will continue on Father’s Day. Plus, temperatures will reach into the upper 80s by the end of the weekend.

Next Week: By Monday, temperatures will warm into the 90s. We can thank more sunshine for the warmer temperatures. This will be closer to our average high for this time of the year…
