COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman and his jail commander opened the doors Monday to the jail to WRBL News 3 for an exclusive tour.
They took us to the spot where inmates started a fire that created a chaotic situation a week ago. That situation was on the brink of getting out of control.
“They would not have gained control,” Countryman said. “They might have overtaken the officers, but they would not have gained control based on what we had in the jail. If they had done that, I promise you that would have been their worst nightmare ever.”…
