COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Several organizations across Columbus and the surrounding West Georgia area are hosting free back-to-school events this summer, offering students school supplies, haircuts, food, and family activities ahead of the upcoming school year.
KidsStreet Urgent Care Back to School Bash — July 18
KidsStreet Urgent Care is hosting a free Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at its clinic located at 3201 Macon Road, Suite 109, Columbus.
The event will feature 300 backpacks filled with school supplies, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers said giveaways will include an Apple Watch, tablets, gift cards, and a Nintendo Switch Lite. Activities include a bounce house, DJ, foam party, face painting, and games.
Motion Day 2026 — July 18
The 4th Annual Motion Day community event will be held Saturday, July 18, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Abundant Life Full Gospel Outreach Church, 6001 Buena Vista Road, Columbus.
Founded by Michael Jones in 2023, the free event will offer school supplies, food and drinks, community resource vendors, a motivational speaker panel, a car show, music, entertainment, games, bounce houses, and networking opportunities.
