Isolated Weekend Storms, Watching the Gulf!

THIS WEEKEND:It’s going to be a warm weekend with afternoon highs topping out in the mid 90s, and some of you could see some relief in the form of some isolated afternoon and evening showers and storms. We are watching the Gulf closely and there is still quite a bit of uncertainty with a system possibly developing in the Gulf. Some models have just an upper low, while others have an actual tropical system, which would be Bertha, forming and moving slowly westward across the northeastern Gulf. Stay tuned for the latest!

NEXT WEEK:Next week we’ll start out with isolated showers and storms again developing each afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 90s as the heat is expected to build as the week goes along. We do have a front that will approach the area on Wednesday that will become stationary just south of Columbus, and that would leave us with temperatures slightly lower, but still in the 90s. Stray showers will be possible THursday and Friday, but more isolated activity returns for the weekend.

Again, the big stories over the next week will be the building heat coming in next week, but we will be keeping an eye on the Gulf for any possible development…
