Few storms for Sunday but drier and hotter early next week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A few more showers and storms will be possible as we continue to head into the remainder of Saturday afternoon and evening. By sunset storms should begin to fizzle out leaving the area calm, mild and muggy.

More Isolated showers and storms on Sunday thanks to a stationary front, this front will continue to slowly slide south through the day but as long as we have it around, you can expect a few storms. Highs on Sunday will reach the low to middle 90s, how hot it get will depend on if you see a shower or storm.

Good news, a change in the pattern will allow us to have a break from the tropical airmass that has been over us for the last week. The boundary will exit by Monday and this will usher in drier air but it will not “cool” behind this front.

While it will feel drier, temperatures will warm up to the upper 90s with plenty of sunshine and a few high clouds. Even hotter on Tuesday with highs falling just short of the century mark. Rain chances during this time will be slim to none…
