Georgia is going to sizzle Tuesday, and it’s largely due to a climate-change heat dome, experts say.
Nearly the entire state will be under a heat advisory, meaning high temperatures will reach 98 degrees or feels-like temperatures (the weather conditions that account for temperature and humidity) hitting 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Columbus is about 6 to 8 degrees above normal — it’s usually in the upper 80s close to 90 this time of year — Daniel Lusk, a senior meteorologist at the NWS in Peachtree City, told the Ledger-Enquirer. Columbus will feel like 105-110 degrees Tuesday. Macon will be a degree or two different.
