Pattern change ahead: Showers return, then heat builds again

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-Tracking ahead in the First Alert forecast, we’re beginning to see a pattern shift taking shape.

That change is being driven by an area of low pressure developing across the northern Gulf. This will help accelerate Gulf moisture northward, almost like a southerly sea breeze, with the greatest impact initially south of Columbus before that moisture works its way across the entire region.

By Friday, look for showers and thunderstorms to begin building, especially across our southern communities. Saturday should become a little more scattered, particularly across East Alabama and Central Georgia…
