COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition is making an effort to bring awareness to the community with its 17th annual ‘Paint the Town Pink’ campaign.
The month-long campaign kicked off with its first event on Saturday at the Columbus Public Library. The organization held its 11th annual ‘Celebration of Life’ Survivor Butterfly Release to honor cancer survivors and those who have lost the battle to cancer.
Founder of ‘Celebration of Life’ Survivor Butterfly Release, Gloria Weston Smart, collaborated with President/CEO of West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition, Cheryl Johnson, to make this event possible.
