City takes down century-old downtown oak as urban tree canopy beginning to show age and signs of stress

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Columbus has a large and expansive tree canopy. And nowhere is that more noticeable than downtown.

This week, the city had to take down a massive water oak in the 1200 block of Broadway.
