Thousands of Columbus residents face power outages, downed trees after severe storms

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Severe Saturday evening storms left more than 13,000 Columbus residents without power, according to Georgia Power.

Columbus Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Chance Corbett said residents also suffered from roughly 80 downed trees across the city.

A neighborhood on Madden Drive off of Country Club Road was just one of several locations to suffer damage from the storms.
