COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Jordan high school parent is asking the Muscogee County school district for answers after the school’s marching band missed a community parade this weekend.
The parent spoke during Monday night’s school board meeting, saying students spent weeks preparing for the Tri-city Latino Festival parade, but their buses never arrived.
Jennifer Le Denney says Jordan’s marching band has about 75 students, and that transportation was supposed to arrive Saturday morning to take students, instruments and equipment to the parade. She says the students and their families were left scrambling for answers.
Le Denney asked the district for a formal apology, and for a process to make sure transportation requests are actually confirmed. She told the board the issue goes beyond one missed parade saying students count on these opportunities for belonging, leadership and scholarship opportunities…
