COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – One hundred inmates at the Muscogee County Prison have earned their GED or a trade certification through an education program at the facility.
A graduation ceremony was held at the prison. Columbus Mayor Skip Henderson said the programs help inmates find jobs and stay out of trouble after release.
“It gives them a shot. So when they get out they’re leaving here with some skills that are going to let them find a job and build a family,” Henderson said.
