19-year-old murder suspect arrested in connection to Fort Benning Road shooting

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting from earlier this month.

Davaris Binn, 19, is being charged with murder and armed robbery.

The arrest stems back to Jan. 8 at 6:05 p.m. when police responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of Fort Benning Road.

At the scene, officers found William Brown, 39, had been shot multiple times. Brown was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he was pronounced dead at 6:51 p.m.

Binn is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
