COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — On Saturday afternoon, Columbus entrepreneur Travis Chambers announced his candidacy for City Council representative for District 10.
Tyson Begly holds the current seat after former city councilor John House resigned last year. Chambers is a Columbus native and small business owner who is currently serving on the workforce investment and development authority board through the Chamber of Commerce.
He tells WRBL the main focus of his campaign is the three Cs: c hampioning public safety, continuing economic development, and community collaboration.
“I want to ensure I can help people get to work. I will advocate for helping people get to work and ensuring they have competitive compensation. Also, with public safety, I will make sure that I advocate for public safety, ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to be successful and making sure that they are paid. From a compensation perspective, because we want not only to attract, we want to ensure that we retain public safety here in Columbus, Georgia,” shared Chamber.
