COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)— National Catholic Schools Week kicked off this week at St. Anne Pacelli Catholic School with a campus-wide service project.
Monday morning, nearly 6,000 personal hygiene products were blessed before being given to the St. Anne Community Outreach. It’s all a part of National Catholic Schools Week with three main goals: educate, inspire, and mentor students how to meet the needs of their community.
“We hope that each one of our children will be able to leave after 12 years, roughly, of school, to be able to be good citizens,” Pastor Scott Winchel said. “To go out and to have respect for others, to respect life, and to be able to bring the goodness and love of God into the world.”
The hygiene drive and donation bags were organized by students apart of the Viking Outreach Leadership Team. Each school family was asked to donate items.
Senior Sara Grace Callahan has been a student at St. Anne Pacelli for 12 years, she says she looks forward to coming together with her classmates to serve her community.
