COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Tonight across the Valley, a dry cold front will move through the area overnight. A stray shower can’t be ruled out for Columbus and points north, but overall most of the Valley stays dry. This cold front will help to reinforce cooler temperatures on Wednesday. Temperatures Wednesday morning look to range form the upper-30s to low-40s, but thanks to breezy conditions, it will feel colder stepping out the door. Wednesday afternoon temperatures will climb into the upper-50s with lots of sunshine in the afternoon. Thursday looks to see another seasonable day across the Valley, with some clouds moving back into the area throughout the day. A gradual warming trend will occur Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the upper-60s, before cooler and breezy conditions arrive on Sunday. A low moving along the Gulf Coast will bring increased rain coverage to our area Sunday through Monday, with rainfall totals near 1 inch. We will continue to fine tune the timing and coverage of the rain over the coming days. After the rain moves out of the Valley, drier conditions and seasonable temperatures return next Tuesday.
