Phenix City mayor delivers 2024 State of the City address

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe and the City Council held their annual State of the City address Thursday night at the Phenix City Public Safety Building.

More than 40 residents attended to learn about potential developments that may affect the community. City Council officials reviewed the city’s finances, future growth prospects, ongoing projects, and what the public can expect this year.

Mayor Lowe says this is one of the highlights of the year for the council because of the opportunity to show how much the city has grown and the opportunities available in Phenix City. He also asks residents to not hesitate to ask questions- so they can hold city and state officials accountable.

“We want them to be encouraged and to be positive for us, but more importantly, to keep us accountable if they are something that they may not like or believe in. Just give us a call. We will certainly show you the facts. We will show you what we’re doing because, again, we lead with transparency. And transparency is the best policy,” shared Mayor Lowe.
