CDC warns of Listeria outbreak, Georgia one of seven states

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A CDC food safety alert regarding a multistate outbreak of Listeria infections has been posted and Georgia is among those states. According to the CDC, 26 people have been infected with the outbreak strain of Listeria, and it has been reported from 7 states. 23 people have been hospitalized and 2 deaths have been reported, one from California and Texas. The Illnesses started on dates ranging from June 15, 2014, to December 10, 2023.
