COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) – This past week’s One Class At A Time winner is an innovative teacher striving to make a difference in the lives of her students.
Cathy Rathert is a 4th and 5th grade teacher at Gentian Elementary School. The person who nominated her says she has taught her a lot about special education and that Rathert shows patience, determination and drive for her students.
Rathert says she plans on using the grant to buy supplies for her students.
“I was actually talking about making our list of supplies for things that we needed for the classroom. And so, you know, it’s a village to teach nowadays. And so, this means a lot you know, it’s still it’s a reminder that we’re not just us in the classroom, that, you know, there’s a whole lot more support out there. So…”
