COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Rain chances will be on the way up for the weekend, but it definitely won’t be a washout by any stretch. Look for showers to be at their lowest coverage on Saturday, meaning we will have more dry intervals than wet ones for folks that may have outdoor plans. Highs will be in the lower 70s, and we should carry those warm temperatures into Sunday and Monday too. For Sunday, the rain coverage will be higher, but rain and storms will come in waves and be more scattered in nature still, so there may be some time to get out and get things done – especially for those trying to get the grill or smoker fired up for any Super Bowl parties. Sunday into Monday will feature the best coverage of rain and storms, and we’ll have to keep an eye out for any strong storms in the mix, along with heavy rain. The best coverage of rain should be out of the area by Monday afternoon and then we’ll start the process of drying out for the rest of next week. Your Tuesday through Friday should feature fairly seasonable weather with chilly mornings and pleasant and dry afternoons. Valentine’s Day weather looks fantastic! Look for the next rain chances by *next* weekend.
