Wilson Apartments double murder trial moves into second week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A criminal street gang and murder trial involving three co-defendants moved into its second week on Monday morning.

Davion Dupas, Corey Troupe Jr., and Jeheim Davis were back in Muscogee County Superior Court. The three men are accused of shooting Marcel Samedi of South Carolina to death in June 2021 at Wilson Apartments.

Two Columbus Police officers took the witness stand. Lead investigator Sgt. Donna Baker testified to surveillance video showing the scene.

Prosecution contended the three co-defendants, the deceased and others were members of Insane Crips – a criminal street gang.

All three co-defendants are facing multiple gang and murder charges.

Court was dismissed by Judge Richard T. Winegarden just after 12 p.m., as one of the attorneys had a medical appointment.

Court will start back at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. WRBL will keep you updated.
