Warming up with clouds slowly increasing

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Starting to see some high level clouds roll in this Thursday morning with temperatures right around 40 degrees. Throughout the day, high level clouds will remain while we see temperatures warm into the 70s.

Clouds continue to increase tonight with partly cloudy skies and temperatures remaining chilly as they dip into the mid 40s, but staying a little above average.

Friday we start off with a few breaks in the clouds, but expect skies to pretty much go overcast by the afternoon and evening as our next system approaches. A few light showers can’t be ruled out for some of us.

This fast moving system does not have a lot of moisture with it as it moves through, just a few spotty showers will be possible as it quickly moves through. Rain will likely be gone by daybreak Saturday morning with little clearing throughout the day.

Second half of the weekend will see the sun return, but a drop in temperatures is expected with highs in the upper 50s.
