UPDATE: Bomb threat at government center specifically targeted court rooms, according to sheriff’s office

UPDATE — The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office has shared further information on a bomb threat at the government center.

According to Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman, the threat was phoned in to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office on Wednesday at about 9:30 a.m.

Sheriff Countryman confirmed to WRBL the threat was specifically about bombs being planted in the court rooms of the government center.

An evacuation was ordered by MCSO. Bomb-sniffing dogs are on the scene.

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — An investigation is underway following a bomb threat at the government center in Uptown Columbus, according to Columbus Emergency Management & Homeland Security.

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s is investigating this threat. The public is asked to stay clear of the area at this time.
