Young voter? Muscogee County Elections Office shares tips for registering to vote

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County Elections Office encourages eligible young voters to register to vote on National Voter Registration Day.

Oct. 7th is the voter registration deadline in Georgia. This will be the last day to register to vote, change your name or your address.

In Columbus, voter registration can be done online or by mail-in registration card.

Nancy Boren, the Director of the Muscogee County Elections Office, says it is important to know the candidates and platforms.

“Once you are registered, make sure that you know the candidates and the platforms, constitutional amendments and the statewide referenda that are on the ballot,” says Boren.

Boren recommends going to the Georgia My Voter Page to research candidates and where to cast ballots. She says there are videos on the webpage that instruct viewers how to cast a ballot.

Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 15, and ends Nov. 1. Each site will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily during the advanced voting period.
