National Infantry Museum to honor Rep. Richard Smith with new paver

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The National Infantry Museum is dedicating a paver in honor of the late Representative Richard Smith.

Smith was remembered as a longtime friend and supporter of the museum, known for his legacy of service within the community.

The museum says Representative Smith was active in securing funds for the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, installing the Gold Star and Surviving Family Memorial and the Korean War Memorial.

The dedication ceremony is scheduled to be held on Oct. 1 outside Heritage Walk at the museum.
