A look at the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame inductees for 2025

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2025 class. This will mark its 29th class since it began in 1996.

These inductees will be honored at Columbus Convention and Trade Center at 10 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2025:

James “Jim” Creek

“Jim Creek coached at Jordan Vocational High School for 22 years. But longevity doesn’t begin to tell his story. Creek coached boys’ and girls’ soccer, golf, track and boys’ basketball. But his passion was for the Lady Red Jackets. Not only did Creek win 377 games over 19 years and take teams to the state finals eight times, he was instrumental in elevating the status of girls’ basketball in the Chattahoochee Valley. After leaving Jordan, Creek coached at Blackmon Road and Marshall Middle Schools as well as Central and Smiths Station.”

Timothy Scott Fanning

“Tim Fanning is a warrior both on and off the baseball diamond. Fanning has amassed a 649-174 record over a 19-year career at Glenwood High School, winning eight state championships in eight different sports, fielding two state runners-up and earning 14 region crowns. A stunning 90 of his players have gone on to play college or professional baseball. But Fanning’s biggest battle has been against Stage 4 colon cancer. Fanning has continued this fight with dignity against formidable odds.”
