Columbus State University’s Communication Department to collect donations for Hurricane Helene relief

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Columbus State University’s Department of Communication is partnering up with Columbus Convention and Trade Center to collect donations for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Donations can be dropped off at the South hall of the Columbus Convention and Trade Center or the Main Campus’s post office.

Items can also be donated by purchasing online and sending to:

This will deliver the items to the department where they will then be taken to a drop-off location.

The most-needed items can be found below:

  • Sleeping bags
  • Warm hats/beanies
  • Hooded sweatshirts
  • First aid kits
  • Propane heaters

CSU mentioned “even when power is restored, HVACs are destroyed.”

The university says these items will be delivered to Haywood County, North Carolina, where Hurricane Helene had a severe impact.
