Three theft suspects arrested in connection to vehicle break-ins near Forest Ave., Wynnton Rd., 13th St.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Three men have been taken into custody in connection to a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Police say Dijon Jackson, 33, Kmack Hunt, 23, and Jason Williams, 35, were all arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 23 after trying to flee from officers responding to a domestic call. Charges are pending.

Detectives investigating vehicle break-ins from early in October had previously identified Jackson as a suspect after review of bank records and surveillance footage.

After the arrests, officers found stolen property inside an apartment. The search revealed many stolen items including bank cards, clothing, lawn equipment and burglary tools. These items were linked to vehicle break-ins near Forest Avenue, Wynnton Road, and 13th Street.

According to police, the cases could possibly clear up to 20 additional theft reports.
