COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Goodwill is presenting a $25,000 donation to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The check is scheduled to be presented at 10:30 a.m. at 1000 5th Avenue.
According to Goodwill, proceeds will benefit Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes , an organization with a mission to provide safe environments to children experiencing abandonment, neglect or abuse in Georgia. They will be invested in essential programs including academic support, life skills training and counseling.
“We aim to support youth in the program and help them successfully transition into adulthood with jobs, training, and necessary tools to help them thrive in the next chapters of their lives,” says Jack Warden, President and CEO of Goodwill Southern Rivers.
The event highlights the impact of the partnership between Goodwill and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.
“The shared working relationships between the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers has led to some of our greatest work in public service,” says Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman. “The impact that this donation will have for our area is tremendous.”
