Halloween has come and gone and now, it’s time to think about how you’re going to prepare your turkey dinner spread. Or maybe you’re already decking the halls?
Traditionally, many Americans choose not to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving because hey, the turkey deserves to have its own day, too.
However, more recent studies have shown that welcoming Santa before turkey day is not all that bad. In fact, a 2022 survey showed that 79% of participants agreed that the earlier they decorate for Christmas, the more holiday spirit they experience. The act of decorating for the holiday can even improve mental health because it “ creates a spike in dopamine .”
Of course, all of this is still up for debate between households and it seems to be a big topic of conversation every year. Perhaps maybe even a controversial topic in some homes.
