Body found on side of JR Allen Parkway and West Bradley Park Drive

Update 11/12/24 9 a.m.: Police say there are no initial signs of foul play regarding a body found on the side of JR Allen Parkway and West Bradley Park Drive.

The body will be sent to the GBI crime lab. It appears the body had been there for over a week.

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Muscogee County Coroner is attempting to identify a body found on the side of the road near the West Bradley Park Drive exit ramp.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, Columbus Police, EMS and identification teams are on the scene. The coroner says the body is badly decomposed and remains unidentified at this time.

Bryan says the body was originally reported to the Columbus Police Department on Nov. 5, however police were not able to locate the body. A call reporting the body again was made Monday evening and the body was located by police in a wooded area near the West Bradley Park Drive exit ramp.

Do to the state of the body, Bryan says identification may take some time.
