COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Wednesday morning! Starting off the midweek with just a few clouds across the region and temperatures near 60 degrees. Breezing at times with winds coming in from the east. Expect the breeze through the majority of the day with increasing cloud coverage.
By this evening, skies should be mostly cloudy to overcast with a few light showers arriving ahead of the cold front on Thursday. Early morning showers are expected to hang around through midday Thursday until the cold front clears. You’ll see some clearing by Thursday evening, but full sunshine will not arrive until Friday with highs near 70.
Cold front helps usher in some cooler temperatures really felt across the region in the morning. Afternoon temperatures still warm into the low 70s. Staying quiet and pleasant through the weekend; however, the extended forecast we are watching the tropics.
Tropical disturbance in the Caribbean will likely become our next storm/hurricane with the name of Sara. The storm is expected to meander in the Caribbean until a trough moves out and the storm rides the southern and western end of a high pressure ridge sending the storm into the gulf and likely across south Florida.
