COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Thursday morning! Rain showers are moving in ahead of a cold front that will clear the region later this afternoon. Showers will be steady at times through the morning with a few breaks until the physical cold front clears.
Once the front clears the region, temperatures will be dropping quickly behind it especially once the sunsets later this evening. Temperatures fall into the upper 40s by daybreak Friday morning with clear skies.
After a cold start, afternoon temperatures will be more seasonal with upper 60s and briefly touching 70 degrees in spots. Weekend forecast will see the same. Cool, chilly start with temperatures in the 40s and highs in the low 70s under sunny skies.
Extended forecast becomes tricky as we are watching the tropics very closely, but hopefully another advancing strong front will help scoop the storm up and push it eastward.
That storm mentioned above is currently Nineteen, which will likely be named Sara. It will impact central America for the remainder of this week and over the weekend as it skirts the coasts and impacts the Yucatan Peninsula. Forecast guidance indicated that it will enter the gulf and mostly impact south Florida.
