OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) – A single-vehicle crash on U.S. 29 claimed the life of a Cusseta woman Wednesday evening.
Investigators say the incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 20, when Angel Elliot, 43, was struck by a 2019 BMW X5 driven by a Valley man. Authorities say Elliot was in the roadway at the time of the crash.
The crash happened near the 199-mile marker, approximately six miles south of Valley in Lee County. Elliot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time.
