Man arrested in connection to armed bank robbery in Phenix City

PHENIX CITY, Ala. ( WRBL ) — An arrest was made in connection to an armed bank robbery in Phenix City on Friday, Dec. 27.

The robbery happened at Phenix City Girard Bank in the 3600 block of South Railroad Street. Authorities say a man identified as Kevin Robert McDonald came inside the bank, produced a handgun and demanded funds.

According to police, an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank and no injuries were reported. McDonald was taken into custody in Columbus.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
