COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The woman accused of stabbing a 33-year-old man in early December appeared in Recorder’s Court this afternoon.
Shamone Huggins appeared before Recorder’s Court Judge Alonza Whitaker for a stabbing that occurred Dec. 3 in the 3900 block of Trask Drive in Columbus.
According to Columbus Police, the victim, 33-year-old Nigel Holmes was involved in a dispute with Huggins which escalated, resulting in the stabbing.
Huggins was arrested the same day and initially charged with aggravated assault.
On Dec. 14, the Columbus Police Department was notified that Holmes had succumbed to his injuries while hospitalized at Piedmont Columbus Regional. This resulted in the case being reassigned to the department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
