MCSD responds to allegations involving former custodian at Richards Middle School

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Muscogee County School District (MCSD) has responded to allegations involving a former employee at Richards Middle School.

According to MCSD officials, on Feb. 5, the district’s police department was notified of potential inappropriate communications between a school custodian and two underage students.

The district says the employee, identified as Trentavius Johnson, was terminated immediately after the report surfaced. An internal investigation led to multiple charges being filed against Johnson, including:

  • Child molestation
  • Use of a computer service to seduce, solicit, lure or entice
  • Enticing a child for indecent purposes

MCSD confirmed Johnson passed all background checks prior to his hiring and had no previous criminal record…
