National Tourism Week highlights Columbus’ economic impact

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – More than two million people are expected to travel through Columbus in 2025, leaving millions more dollars behind at area businesses.

With summer almost here and on this National Tourism Week, VisitColumbus leaders are stressing the importance of southern hospitality and its economic impact on the Chattahoochee Valley.

Officials said tourists spent over $300 million in Columbus last year. This money will go into the city’s budget and be used for various projects. Without this revenue, the city would have to pay for projects out of pocket, raising taxes for local residents…
