COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – It’s been a wet start to our Mother’s Day Weekend here in the Valley with showers and storms moving through since late last night.

The rain/storms from the Gulf will continue to lift north through the viewing area throughout the day. It’s not a complete washout, but there will definitely be a few stretches of wet and stormy weather that could bring downpours to a few spots. Mother’s Day looks to be very similar, with more intervals of rain/storms throughout the day.

High temperatures this weekend will only climb to the low 70s due to the rain and cloud cover. The rain will continue through the start of the work week, with coverage slightly lower on Monday at around 60%, but conditions begin to dry out on Tuesday with only a few lighter showers remaining as this wet weather system continues to move north…
