Uber launches new feature to assist older adults

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The ride-booking app, Uber, announced today their new feature aimed to help older adults get around independently.

Senior accounts are a part of Uber’s family profiles feature, allowing family members to set up accounts, book rides and get real-time trip updates. The app has also created a feature called Simple Mode, that allows seniors to experience an easier app interface, with larger text, saved places and fewer buttons.

Medicare Advantage plans that include supplemental benefit funds for transportation can be used for payment. Pre-funded cards issued by insurance providers can be used for eligible healthcare expenses, though eligibility may vary…
