Columbus native named Georgia Southwestern’s 2025 Outstanding Scholar

AMERICUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Avondre’a “Dréa” Singleton of Columbus has been named Georgia Southwestern State University’s 2025 Outstanding Scholar, the highest academic honor awarded by the institution.

Singleton, a psychology and exercise science double major, was honored during Academic Recognition Day by University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue in Atlanta. She maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA since starting at GSW in fall 2021 and made the honors list every semester.
