COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The retirement of an assistant chief at the Columbus Police Department has triggered five promotions that were announced on Monday by Chief Stoney Mathis.
Deputy Chief Lance Deaton, who has 23 years of experience with CPD, has been promoted from deputy chief to assistant chief to replace Debra Kennedy. She retired two months ago after 33 years with CPD. She is now the Chief of Police at Columbus State University.
