AUBURN, Ala. (WHNT) — The man at the center of a multi-state manhunt last week that ended in Ardmore has been charged with capital murder and kidnapping in Lee County.
Aaron Dontay Williams, 41, is accused of killing his wife and her daughter in Auburn and kidnapping their son. The son was the subject of an Amber Alert on July 10.

Williams lived in Huntsville for several years, and police say he returned to the Huntsville area the week of the murders. News 19 crew members spoke to workers at the Economy Inn located on University Drive last Friday. According to motel employees, two men and a child checked into the motel around 9:30 p.m. and July 8 and they checked out the following morning.
