PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) — An investigation into reports of suspicious absentee voter applications resulted in the arrest of two Phenix City women.
According to the Phenix City Police Department, the investigation was prompted after the city clerk’s office received multiple reports of unusual activity. The investigation revealed that Thalia Jenkins Hardin and Valerie Carter, who advised investigators they were volunteering for District 3 Candidate Jamar Gayles, engaged in illegal ballot harvesting.
