The heat is on to start the workweek

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The early part of the workweek will be the hottest and the driest. As the week moves along, rain opportunities gradually go up. The end of the week and the weekend feature the best rain chance.

Lots of morning sun Monday. It turns partly cloudy during the afternoon with a couple stray showers or storms. Rain coverage only around 10%. Quite hot with highs between 92 and 95 degrees; it will feel like the upper 90s to near 100 degrees out there thanks to the humidity.

Mostly clear Monday night. Lows early Tuesday mostly in the low 70s.

Sunny at first Tuesday. It turns partly cloudy during the afternoon with a few widely spaced showers and storms; rain coverage around 20%. Highs still well into the 90s.

It looks like a pretty similar story Wednesday. Starting Thursday, rain coverage goes up more with an approaching cold front. Friday and Saturday look to offer the best overall coverage of scattered showers and storms. That should keep our highs in the 80s over the weekend…
