Brace for pea-sized hail with thunderstorms in Alabama Wednesday – wind gusts reaching 40 mph

The National Weather Service issued a report at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 2:30 p.m. for Bullock, Russell and Barbour counties.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) are likely.

“At 1:30 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Spring Hill, or near Midway, moving south at 15 mph,” states the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.”…
