PHENIX CITY, Ala. (Aug. 22, 2025) — As a follow-up to the Aug. 13 media release regarding an absentee-voting fraud investigation and arrests, the Phenix City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division reports additional arrests.
• Jamar Gayles, District 3 City Council candidate, was arrested Aug. 21, 2025. He was charged with two counts of attempt to commit absentee-voter fraud, a Class C felony, and one count of conspiracy to commit absentee-voter fraud, a Class B misdemeanor.
• Thalia Hardin was arrested Aug. 18, 2025. She faces four counts of absentee-voter fraud, a Class C felony, and one count of absentee-voter violations, a Class A misdemeanor…
