Phenix City city council votes to start improvement projects at wastewater treatment plant

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) – Phenix City City Council voting to make improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment plant. This decision comes nearly a year after the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Alabama Department of Environmental Management filed a lawsuit against the city for so called “raw sewage” flowing out of the treatment plant and into the Chattahoochee River.

“It was a little alarming. I mean, I’ve lived here for so long. I live on the river,” said Camryn Bridges.
