RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – Authorities are releasing new details about a serious crash Sunday in Russell County involving a sheriff’s office cruiser.
Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor confirmed that a sergeant with the department—whose name has not yet been made public—is currently in stable condition but remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit. The deputy was working a weekend shift when his patrol vehicle was struck head-on by a driver suspected of being under the influence.
